About the role#
This is a full-time Industrial Engineering Co-op position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The role spans the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. You will work on-site, collaborating directly with manufacturing teams to improve production processes. U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
What you'll do#
- Solve day-to-day manufacturing issues by working with production floor employees, including operators, inspectors, and technicians.
- Manage projects to identify and eliminate recurring production problems.
- Design tooling and use additive manufacturing (3D printing) to support production needs.
- Analyze facility layouts and workflows for building, testing, and repairing electronic and electro-mechanical devices.
- Plan the allocation of personnel, materials, and resources to maximize equipment use.
- Conduct studies focused on cost control, productivity, inventory management, and production record systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program for Industrial, Mechanical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Ability to remain enrolled through the completion of the co-op session.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and visualization.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with process mapping, Lean/Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, or time studies.
