    About the role#

    This Summer 2027 internship offers an opportunity to work within the Effector Digital Products Department. You will join a multi-discipline team focused on the design, analysis, and support of electronics products for military programs. The role involves working with FPGA designs, including VHDL development for various device families, and supporting electronics through the full lifecycle from requirements definition to production.

    What you'll do#

    • Participate as a team member in detailed circuit design.
    • Develop configurable digital logic using VHDL.
    • Perform functional analysis and design modeling, including DSP and math functions.
    • Conduct integration work in labs using Python and C/C++.
    • Execute functional verification testing.
    • Build automation tools using shell scripts, Python, and Perl.
    • Troubleshoot design and process issues, providing root cause analysis and corrective actions.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program for Electrical Engineering or a related STEM major.
    • Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
    • Relevant coursework in circuit design, digital electronics, lab work, PCB design, or signal integrity.
    • U.S. citizenship is required.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain an interim U.S. government security clearance.
    • An active and transferable U.S. government security clearance is required prior to the start date.
    • Experience through class projects, internships, or academic research that demonstrates the application of technical coursework.
    • A self-motivated approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.
