About the role#
This Electrical Engineering Co-Op position focuses on the design and development of flight simulators. You will apply engineering methods and CAD tools to solve technical problems while working on multiple projects simultaneously. This is a project-oriented role that requires personal initiative and a commitment to continuous learning.
What you'll do#
- Design, analyze, modify, test, and evaluate input/output systems.
- Generate system and schematic diagrams using AutoCAD.
- Integrate aircraft avionics systems.
- Perform and document electrical load analysis and balancing.
- Execute 3-phase power system calculations and design.
- Evaluate the requirements compliance of hardware products.
- Resolve technical problems and provide support to suppliers and manufacturing teams.
- Participate in the installation and final sell-off of training devices.
- Coordinate and review technical deliverables before customer submission.
- Provide administrative and technical support to the engineering department.
- Conduct independent studies, analysis, and interpretations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Bachelor's degree program or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent communication, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and a strong attention to detail.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Personal Security Clearance.
- Willingness to learn new procedures and applications.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Raspberry PI, Arduino, or BeagleBone is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Arlington, Texas.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment type: Part-time, rolling term.
- Physical requirements: Ability to climb stairs to enter or exit simulators, support rack-mounted equipment up to 7 feet high, and lift or carry at least 50 pounds.
- Note: This role may require overtime on and off-shifts, and you must be available for 24/7 support regarding technical issues.
