About the role#
The Air Systems Design & Integration (ASDI) team at Pratt & Whitney is looking for an engineering intern for Summer 2027. This role focuses on the physical and functional requirements that shape internal and external air system architectures. You will gain exposure to system cooling, sealing flows, bearing load management, and clearance control while working at our East Hartford campus.
What you'll do#
- Perform detailed internal air system flow analyses to evaluate performance, cooling, and sealing effectiveness for commercial engine programs.
- Support development engine testing and transform raw data into actionable engineering insights.
- Execute probabilistic studies to quantify complex system behavior and assess design robustness.
- Investigate flow system options through trade studies that impact design choices and engine capabilities.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Active enrollment through the completion of the internship session.
- A minimum of 30 credit hours completed by the start of the internship.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by federal regulations.
