About the role#
Pratt & Whitney is hiring a Software Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Tucson, Arizona. You will work within the Test Equipment Engineering group to develop test solutions for aerospace products. This role requires an active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance, as you must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this clearance.
What you'll do#
- Write and integrate object-oriented software applications using C# and C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Identify and fix software bugs to maintain system reliability.
- Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to build and implement technical solutions.
- Follow established software development lifecycles, including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Derive and develop requirements for software applications and systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Practical experience with software development, testing, or integration using C, C++, Python, or Visual Basic.
- Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Visual Studio.
- A basic understanding of software development principles and object-oriented design.
- Ability to obtain an interim U.S. government-issued security clearance prior to your start date.
