About the role#
Pratt & Whitney is hiring a Systems Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
What you'll do#
- Determine requirements for avionics systems.
- Create system design documentation, including interface control and hardware interconnect definitions, as well as human machine interface documentation.
- Develop and execute verification procedures for laboratory testing.
- Ensure all work complies with certification regulations.
- Plan and track engineering tasks using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and JAMA.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program or higher in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
- Previous internship, co-op, or work experience with RTX.
- Background in aviation, such as experience as a pilot or aircraft maintainer.
- Experience with technical writing, including undergraduate research papers.
- Demonstrated project leadership or communication and coordination roles.
- Experience with personal projects involving complex systems.
