About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Mechanical Engineering internship based in Richardson, Texas, for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site to support the planning, design, and testing of mechanical and electromechanical systems. Please note that this position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DoD security clearance.
What you'll do#
- Apply research to the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems.
- Create models for components, parts, and assemblies alongside experienced engineers.
- Execute tests for subsystems and components under technical oversight.
- Analyze test results to ensure they meet design specifications and objectives.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively within a cross-functional team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program for Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, continuing through the end of the internship.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the program.
- Relevant experience gained through coursework, projects, research, or previous jobs.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or NX.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with simulation tools like ANSYS, Flow Therm, or Flow Simulation is a plus.
- Prior work experience with RTX is also considered an asset.
