About the role#
We are looking for a part-time intern to join our Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering team within the Space and Defense Group. This role is based on-site in Blacksburg, Virginia. You will work alongside engineers and machinists to support technical projects and contribute to our manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Support the preparation and execution of engineering tasks.
- Provide technical assistance to engineers and machinists.
- Review inspection reports and collect project data.
- Work with 2D prints and technical tolerances.
- Use various measurement techniques to verify components.
- Offer input on project strategies and execution.
- Collaborate as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Represent the company with a professional demeanor.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program for Mechanical, Aerospace, or a relevant engineering field.
- A GPA of at least 3.0.
- Ability to relocate to the Blacksburg area for the duration of the internship.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to learn.
- A professional attitude and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
