    About the role#

    This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Winston Salem, North Carolina. The role is strictly on-site. Please note that U.S. citizenship is required for this position to access necessary internal systems.

    What you'll do#

    • Design mechanical components and assemblies.
    • Prepare, modify, and release CAD drawings using NX software.
    • Evaluate various materials and parts for new designs.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide input on design solutions.
    • Participate in design reviews.
    • Perform design studies to validate project proposals.
    • Conduct engineering calculations to determine the size and strength of components.
    • Use engineering tools like Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) to optimize designs.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in a STEM field, specifically Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
    • Experience with CAD software such as NX, Creo, SolidWorks, Catia, or AutoCAD.
    • Ability to remain enrolled through the duration of the internship.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
    • Experience managing projects or working on cross-functional teams is a plus.
    • Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship is preferred.
    • Prior experience with RTX is highly valued.
