About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer Intern focused on CAD Administration, you will maintain the integrity of our engineering data. You will organize CAD part libraries and build standard part families to support design workflows. This role involves managing specifications, materials, and engineering notes within our systems to ensure all design files remain consistent and accurate.
What you'll do#
- Organize and maintain CAD part libraries to ensure clean, reusable engineering data.
- Manage and update specifications, materials, and engineering notes within the system.
- Verify data accuracy and ensure consistency across design files and libraries.
- Build and maintain standard part families to support efficient design workflows.
- Utilize Siemens NX and Teamcenter to manage and structure engineering data.
- Support and improve engineering workflows by enhancing data organization and accessibility.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure library content meets design needs and standards.
- Contribute to maintaining best practices for data integrity within an aerospace or defense environment.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience designing and working with 3D CAD tools in a mechanical engineering context.
- Strong preference for experience with Siemens NX CAD, ideally within a Siemens PLM Teamcenter environment.
- Ability to demonstrate an aptitude for understanding spatial relationships and experience interfacing with customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with the following is preferred: SIEMENS NX user certifications, PMI, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), ASME 14.100, and scripting experience (VB, Python, NXOpen, or PowerShell).
