About the role#
The Toro Company is hiring a Mechanical Engineering Intern for our Ditch Witch facility in Perry, Oklahoma. This is a full-time, on-site position for the summer of 2027. You will work directly with our engineering and operations teams to improve equipment and manufacturing processes.
What you'll do#
- Design solutions and improvements for underground construction equipment.
- Support safety projects and ongoing manufacturing operations.
- Maintain plant layouts to help with machine moves and cost reduction.
- Evaluate material handling and manufacturing processes for new parts.
- Assist with new part quoting and SAP routings.
- Conduct time studies for various production processes.
- Help the quality engineering team with print tolerances and process capability studies.
- Aid in the research and development of capital projects and equipment.
- Support problem-solving activities for Quality, Maintenance, and Lean operations.
- Provide regular verbal and written updates on your project status.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Mechanical, Industrial, or similar engineering degree program at an ABET-accredited institution.
- Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, Solidedge, Creo Parametric, or the Microsoft suite.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work independently and stay self-motivated.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work well with cross-functional teams.
