About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will work on-site to support manufacturing electrical engineering tasks, specifically focusing on high-frequency communication radios and circuit board manufacturing processes. This role requires U.S. citizenship.
What you'll do#
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Resolve design tolerance issues.
- Select and order capital test equipment while performing cost and payback analysis.
- Support capacity planning and analyze equipment utilization.
- Identify and fix routine test defects to improve overall test yields.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for test failures.
- Gain experience with engineering tools such as SAP, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and PDM.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or a related STEM major.
- Experience with root cause analysis.
- Relevant experience from coursework, research, projects, or on-the-job training.
- Ability to commute to the Cedar Rapids site.
We prefer candidates who have:
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with RF technology.
- A demonstrated interest in electronics.
- A track record of driving continuous improvement.
- Previous internship or work experience with RTX.
