About the role#
This Systems Engineering Intern position is based in the Electric Power Systems, Systems Integration department at our Rockford, Illinois facility. You will work alongside cross-functional engineering teams to support the system lifecycle. This role requires U.S. citizenship to access information under the program contract.
What you'll do#
- Apply fundamental knowledge to immediate systems engineering tasks.
- Engage in practices covering the system lifecycle, including requirements engineering, analysis, design, and testing.
- Prepare and publish project documents for the specification, design, testing, and deployment of software.
- Participate in project discussions, walk-throughs, reviews, and inspections.
- Assist engineers with project administration and technical analysis tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program for Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the session.
- Active enrollment through the end of the internship.
- Relevant experience gained through coursework, research, projects, or on-the-job training.
- Preferred skills include scripting in TCL, Python, or Java, as well as knowledge of MatLab, Simulink, C/C++, or VB.
