About the role#
Pratt & Whitney is hiring an intern for the Aero Thermal Systems team for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in East Hartford, Connecticut. You will work within the compressor aerodynamics group to support the design and analysis of fan and compressor systems for aircraft gas turbine engines.
What you'll do#
- Perform compressor secondary flow analysis.
- Design compressor thermal features, including rotor, stator, and casing shapes.
- Review and analyze engine test data.
- Support the closure of key technical issues.
- Collaborate with other engineers to improve technical capabilities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Coursework or experience in thermodynamics, engine performance, aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, or secondary flow.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
