About the role#
As a Fire Protection Engineering Intern, you will join the Facilities and Operations Services team in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. This full-time internship runs from January 2027 through June 2027. You will work under the guidance of experienced engineers to design, build, and maintain fire protection systems.
What you'll do#
- Develop engineering documentation, including floor plans, schematics, test plans, and equipment details.
- Review applicable codes and standards to ensure design compliance.
- Provide installation supervision and support for testing and adjusting systems.
- Assist with acceptance test procedures.
- Troubleshoot existing fire protection systems by taking measurements, recording data, and recommending solutions.
- Perform special tasks and projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Post Graduate degree program at an accredited 4-year university.
- Junior, Senior, or Graduate student status by the start date.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Availability to work various shifts based on project requirements.
- Preferred majors include Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical, or Industrial Engineering, and Architecture.

- Location: Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January through June).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $31 per hour for undergraduate students and $36 per hour for graduate students.
