About the role#
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a 2027 Software Engineer Intern to join the Intelligent Software & Systems department. You will work within a research and development team at our facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This role involves contributing to projects sponsored by the US government, focusing on the design and development of next-generation distributed and mobile information systems.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and prototype technical solutions alongside BBN researchers.
- Build custom software to address complex problems sponsored by the US government.
- Work on projects involving distributed systems, artificial intelligence, cyber security, information management, and virtual technologies.
- Collaborate with a small team to create intelligent, adaptive, and resilient systems.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Coursework in software engineering, distributed computing, computer and network security, or computer languages.
- Programming experience, with a focus on Java.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
- Preferred skills include knowledge of artificial intelligence, TCP/IP networking, cyber security, Semantic Web technologies, or Android development.
