About the role#
This internship focuses on the design and development of functional measurement guidewires and intravascular ultrasound catheters. You will work within our Image Guided Therapy team to gain experience in the full product development lifecycle, including design controls and risk management. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in San Diego.
What you'll do#
- Generate concepts, create models, and build prototypes.
- Set up and execute bench-top tests.
- Develop clinically relevant test methods.
- Perform statistical data analysis.
- Write and execute test protocols and reports.
- Partner with a cross-functional team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. or M.S. program for Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Experience with 3D modeling, fixture design, and basic machining.
- Experience with bench-top testing.
- Knowledge of statistics, such as Design of Experiments, Gauge R&R, or Capability Analysis.
- Familiarity with Minitab is a plus.
- Familiarity with intravascular clinical workflows is preferred.

- This role is located in San Diego, California. You must reside in or within commuting distance to this location.
