About the role#
This is a paid, full-time graduate co-op position for Summer 2027 within the Image Guided Therapy Devices Software R&D group. You will work on-site in Plymouth, Minnesota, to support the development and validation of machine-learning-enabled workflows for clinical imaging software. You will collaborate with engineers and data scientists to improve the performance and reliability of AI models used in medical devices.
What you'll do#
- Support the development, analysis, validation, and documentation of data-driven workflows.
- Assist with exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and data quality issues.
- Verify the quality, consistency, and reliability of data sources for AI/ML model development.
- Document data sources, cleaning processes, and performance metrics.
- Assist with model training, evaluation, tuning, and performance analysis.
- Complete required regulatory and quality management system training.
- Present a summary of your project, technical approach, and results at the end of the term.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master's or doctorate program in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with CNN architectures like UNet and ResUNet.
- Understanding of medical imaging standards including DICOM and NIfTI.
- Experience managing medical imaging databases.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
