About the role#
This is a full-time, paid co-op opportunity based in Murrysville, Pennsylvania. You will join the Biocompatibility Group for a 6-month term starting in January 2027. This role requires on-site presence at our facility.
What you'll do#
- Support biological safety evaluations of materials, components, and finished devices under direct supervision.
- Review material composition data, supplier documentation, and manufacturing process information.
- Support biological risk assessments and ensure compliance with ISO 10993, ISO 18562, and other medical device regulatory standards.
- Conduct verification and validation testing and analyze material stability.
- Provide data to guide product development decisions for respiratory care products.
- Organize, track, and curate biological safety data and test reports.
- Contribute to the development of Biological Evaluation Plans and Biological Evaluation Reports.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience through university projects, internships, or previous co-ops.
- Strong engineering principles and the ability to analyze chemical and physical properties of materials to draw scientific conclusions.
- Comfort using test instrumentation and equipment in and out of a lab environment.
- Ability to work effectively across technical disciplines, external partners, and global teams.
