About the role#
Pason is looking for a Data Science Intern to join our Research team for a 16-month term starting in May 2027. You will work with a group of algorithm and control system designers to extract insights from IoT-based sensor data. This role provides experience in applying data science to real-world industrial settings.
What you'll do#
- Design algorithms to clean, aggregate, and analyze industrial sensor data for performance analysis and process optimization.
- Build, test, and deploy standalone and web-based applications for data analytics.
- Develop real-time signal processing and control loop algorithms, testing them against historical data and live field trials.
- Experiment with machine learning techniques to determine their use in petroleum oilfield data.
- Collaborate with account managers to solve statistical and mathematical problems for customers.
- Use tools including Matlab, Python, Java, GIT, AWS, SQL, and web frameworks.
- Share your work by presenting prototypes to engineering, sales, and management teams.
- Contribute to technical discussions and research paper reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in 3rd year studies in Electrical, Computer, Software, or Geomatics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and programming skills.
- Experience with Matlab, Python, Java, and SQL.
- Knowledge of machine learning, signal processing, and control systems.
- Familiarity with database architecture, statistical analysis, and data visualization.
- Experience with AI coding tools like CoPilot or Junie.
- Proficiency in Python dashboarding libraries such as Streamlit or Plotly Dash.
