About the role#
Pason is looking for an Electrical and Automation Intern for a 16-month term starting in May 2027 and running through August 2028. You will work with hardware, test, and manufacturing engineers to build solutions that support the development and production of Pason products. This role involves taking projects from initial concept through to deployment, including requirements gathering, design, and troubleshooting.
What you'll do#
- Design electronic circuits and PCBs for custom automation and manufacturing applications.
- Develop automated software in LabVIEW to control test equipment and collect measurement data.
- Build and deploy systems that support the validation and manufacturing of products.
- Collaborate with product design teams to improve manufacturability and testability.
- Work with manufacturing partners to implement new processes and resolve technical issues.
- Diagnose hardware and software problems, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Partner with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing engineers on cross-functional projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the 3rd year of an Electrical or Computer Engineering program.
- Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design and electronic systems.
- Experience with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and soldering tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Experience with Altium Designer or similar PCB software is an asset.
- Experience with LabVIEW, Python, or other engineering software tools is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

- Requirements: Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and a valid driver's license are required. You must also be able to travel to local manufacturing partners as needed.
