About the role#
As a Digital (NextGen AI & Data) Intern, you will join the Data & AI team to support enterprise initiatives. You will work alongside business and technology professionals on projects involving data platforms, analytics, automation, and governance. Depending on your background, you will focus on either AI & Data Engineering or AI & Data Analytics to help shape the future of data at AltaGas.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and maintenance of data platforms, pipelines, and workflows.
- Assist with the ingestion, transformation, and monitoring of enterprise data assets.
- Contribute to the testing and implementation of AI-enabled solutions and proof-of-concept projects.
- Help improve data quality and operational processes.
- Assist with data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.
- Contribute to Data Governance initiatives by documenting standards and metrics.
- Support AI adoption through training materials, workshops, and stakeholder engagement.
- Conduct research on emerging technology trends to identify innovation opportunities.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to solve challenges.
- Assist with presentations, communications, and business cases.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, Business Technology Management, Information Systems, Commerce, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Genuine interest in data, AI, and technology.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Curiosity and initiative.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
- Experience with tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Git, or APIs is an asset.
