About the role#
Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineers (FDIEs) build, operate, and maintain the infrastructure that powers Palantir’s platforms and production deployments. As an intern, you will work alongside full-time engineers to manage real production environments. You will have ownership over your work and operate with minimal supervision, similar to a small startup environment.
What you'll do#
- Deploy and operate Palantir software across production environments.
- Handle monitoring, alerting, configuration management, and system upgrades.
- Debug, improve, and optimize Palantir’s services and infrastructure to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Reduce manual operations by automating workflows, processes, and runbooks.
- Develop novel solutions using Palantir’s Foundry and Apollo platforms.
What you'll need#
- An engineering background, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Data Science.
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages like Python, Java, Go, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Planning on graduating in 2028, with this being your final internship before graduation.
- An active US Security clearance, or the eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
- Confidence troubleshooting complex systems and comfort working with large-scale production technologies.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions with minimal direction, and collaborate across teams.
