About the role#
Dedalus Labs builds persistent computers for AI agents. We provide an isolated environment where agents run software, manage files, and maintain state over time. We are looking for engineers to join our team in San Francisco for a full-time, three-month internship. This is a paid role with rolling applications throughout the year.
You will work directly with our engineering team on real infrastructure projects. You will take ownership of tasks, write production-quality code, and investigate complex problems. We expect you to explain your technical decisions and contribute to the reliability and performance of our systems.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to distributed infrastructure for large-scale AI agent workloads.
- Build persistent compute and distributed storage systems.
- Develop scheduling and orchestration platforms.
- Work on virtualization, containerization, and sandboxing infrastructure.
- Build reliable multi-tenant cloud systems.
- Create internal developer platforms and infrastructure tooling.
- Address performance, reliability, observability, and failure recovery.
What you'll need#
- A public GitHub profile.
- Demonstrated programming ability in Rust, Go, C, C++, or a similar language.
- Evidence of building and completing technically meaningful projects.
- Solid computer-science fundamentals and a genuine interest in systems.
- Ability to reason clearly about tradeoffs, failure modes, and debugging.
- Ability to explain your personal contributions and design decisions.
- High agency, intellectual honesty, curiosity, and learning velocity.
- Strong written and verbal technical communication.
- A specific reason for wanting to work on infrastructure for AI agents at Dedalus.
