Forward Deployed Software Engineer, Internship - US Government

About the role#

Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSE) work directly with customers to understand complex problems and design technical solutions. As an intern, you will be treated like a full-time engineer, taking ownership of real-world projects and outcomes that customers rely on. You will work in small teams with minimal supervision, balancing technical architecture discussions, data processing, and strategy development.

What you'll do#

• Own the end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers, product teams, and Deployment Strategists to deliver solutions.
• Engage directly with customer executives to understand their operational challenges.
• Wrangle large-scale data and develop custom web applications.
• Apply creative problem-solving to drive real-world impact.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree program with a planned graduation date in 2027.
• Engineering background in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Willingness to undergo a US government background investigation, as required by specific projects.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Interest in working with large-scale data to solve complex business problems.
