Software Engineer, Internship - Defense Tech

About the role#

As a Software Engineer Intern on the Defense Tech team, you will contribute directly to the development of Palantir's Gotham product. You will work within small, collaborative teams to build mission-critical software used by partners in command centers and battlefronts worldwide. This role involves participating in the full product lifecycle, from initial idea generation and prototyping to execution and shipping.

What you'll do#

• Support the delivery of defense capabilities to critical mission partners.
• Contribute high-quality code to the Gotham product.
• Collaborate with both technical and non-technical counterparts to understand customer challenges and develop effective solutions.
• Engage with small teams of engineers to focus on specific product aspects, such as geospatial mapping tools or release infrastructure.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a degree program with an expected graduation date in 2028.
• An academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
• Ability to obtain or maintain an active US Security clearance.
