About the role#
Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) work directly with customers to understand their most critical problems and implement data-driven solutions. You will have the opportunity to contribute to significant projects, gaining insight into major industries and institutions. This internship operates with the resources and mentorship of an established company while maintaining the autonomy and ownership of a small startup.
What you'll do#
- Work in small teams to own the end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects with minimal supervision.
- Engage in technical tasks including architecture discussions, wrangling large-scale data, and coding custom web applications.
- Collaborate with customer executives and internal teams to establish project strategy.
- Take responsibility for real-world project outcomes that customers rely on.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program with a graduation date in 2027, as this should be your final internship before graduating.
- An engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Willingness to undergo a US government background investigation if required by the project.
- Interest and willingness to travel to client sites, with a preference for 25-50% availability.
