About the role#
This internship with the Visual Management & Insight Services team focuses on building and enhancing Power BI dashboards for Electric Risk & Compliance. You will support stakeholders by creating end-to-end reporting solutions that provide a clear view of status, trends, and risk management. This role involves translating reporting needs into functional visuals, managing datasets, and supporting leadership during operating reviews.
What you'll do#
- Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports for Electric Risk & Compliance stakeholders.
- Design clear report layouts, visuals, and navigation to provide a one-stop view for leaders.
- Develop and maintain Power BI datasets and semantic models, including measures and calculations for standardized reporting.
- Create repeatable reporting views to support leadership visibility and operating review cadences.
- Prepare short, clear walkthroughs of dashboards to explain metrics, changes, and navigation to stakeholders.
- Manage report publishing and perform quality checks to ensure dashboard accuracy and usability.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering at an accredited university.
- Must be continuing education towards your degree during or after the internship.
- Demonstrated experience creating Power BI dashboards or reports through coursework, previous internships, or a portfolio.
- Strong attention to detail regarding visual consistency, metric definitions, and reporting accuracy.
- Interest in risk and compliance reporting within a regulated environment.
- Ability to explain dashboard data and insights to nontechnical stakeholders.
Location & details#
- Locations: Sacramento, CA and Oakland, CA.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Modality: Hybrid (expectation of working in the Oakland office approximately 1 to 3 days per week).
- Status: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: $20.88 to $36.42 per hour.
