Transmission Line Asset Strategy and Standards Non-Engineering Intern

About the role#

The Transmission Line Asset Strategy and Standards Non-Engineering Intern will support the team responsible for maintaining the health, designs, and documentation of the transmission line system. This role involves applying cost-benefit and life cycle analysis to engineering standards and integrating public policy directives, such as climate resiliency, into operational strategies. You will work alongside experienced engineers to gain insight into the broader Electrical Operations organization.

What you'll do#

• Review engineering calculations and cost analyses.
• Assist Strategy and Standards Engineers with the development of transmission line designs, processes, and procedures.
• Update and enhance engineering drawings.
• Map records to business processes related to transmission line encroachments.
• Support data entry for risk modeling.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Health, Political Science, History, or a related field at an accredited university.
• Must be continuing education toward a degree during or after the internship.
• Cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal direction.
