About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support the Electric Distribution Design and Estimating department. You will contribute to capital investments in distribution maintenance and infrastructure projects, including overhead and underground systems. This position is a hybrid role requiring occasional office presence and approximately 10 percent travel within the service territory.
What you'll do#
- Perform technical work related to the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of electric distribution assets.
- Assist in the design of overhead and underground electric infrastructure.
- Prepare construction drawings, charts, graphs, and sketches.
- Analyze engineering data and support administrative tasks within the technical office.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality design products are delivered on time and within budget.
- Foster teamwork and contribute to innovative approaches for efficient project execution.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Data Science at an accredited university.
- Must be continuing education towards your degree during or after the internship.
- Cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Valid driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one at least 30 days prior to the start date.
- EIT or FE certification is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
