About the role#
As an Engineer-In-Training Intern, you will work with the Transmission and Substation Engineering Services Department. You will support the team in preparing and delivering training courses for new engineers and help plan onboarding for future cohorts. This role connects you to the broader work of maintaining and improving electrical infrastructure across California.
What you'll do#
- Promote safe work practices in line with the Corporate Safety policy.
- Build automation tools and templates to improve engineering design processes and training delivery.
- Collaborate with team members to foster innovation and improve work efficiency.
- Assist with updating utility standards and procedures for Substation Engineering and Design.
- Support training delivery by collecting feedback and helping with action planning for program improvements.
- Work alongside experienced engineers on transmission and substation projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, with graduation expected within two years of the internship start date.
- A valid driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one at least 30 days before the start date.
- EIT or FE certification is preferred.
