    About the role#

    This undergraduate research assistantship supports a project investigating fertilization mutants in Caenorhabditis elegans. You will assist in determining if specific mutants have defects in sperm function, fertilization, or egg activation. This position is open to students in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Chemistry.

    What you'll do#

    • Evaluate reproductive phenotypes of mutant C. elegans nematodes.
    • Maintain C. elegans strains.
    • Prepare materials for RNAi experiments.
    • Perform bacterial culture and maintenance.
    • Assist with microscopy and molecular biology tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • Current Work Study eligibility is required.
    • Basic micropipetting skills.
    • Experience with sterile technique.
    • Ability to work safely with non-toxic laboratory chemicals.

    Location & details#

    • Location: New York, New York.
    • Term: Fall 2026 and Winter 2027.
    • Schedule: 5-8 hours per week, arranged with your supervisor.
    • Modality: On-site.
