About the role#
The Psychology Department at Pace University is seeking a student assistant to support the Clinical Coordinator of Doctoral Internships and the Research Coordinator. This part-time role involves managing administrative tasks for the PhD in Mental Health Counseling program. You will work between 15 and 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative support for the doctoral internship coordinator.
- Contact clinical sites to secure new internship placements.
- Track student progress regarding clinical hours, evaluations, and program completion.
- Prepare classroom materials for graduate and doctoral courses.
- Organize departmental events.
- Assist with research tasks, including the preparation of mental health counseling articles and proposals.
- Support outreach efforts to engage the community with the program.
What you'll need#
- A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.
- Completion of a 700-hour practicum and internship component.
- Clinical understanding of private practices, hospitals, school settings, and federal or state agencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to learn new technology quickly.
- Skill in handling confidential information with discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity to multitask and meet deadlines.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in Pleasantville, New York.
- The schedule is determined with your supervisor, with a maximum of 20 hours per week during the school term and 35 hours per week during breaks.
