About the role#
OU Health is hiring a Pharmacy Intern for a PRN position in Oklahoma City. This role involves working under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy operations. You will assist with medication preparation, clinical reviews, and pharmacy maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and distribute medications after they are checked by a licensed pharmacist.
- Review and assess medication and IV orders for drug interactions and appropriateness.
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide clinical interventions.
- Prepare intravenous admixtures and sterile products using aseptic techniques.
- Process patient prescriptions from start to finish, including data entry, filling, and packaging.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional pharmacy environment.
- Report safety issues and errors to supervisors in a timely manner.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- An active Oklahoma licensed intern permit in good standing.
- Knowledge of pharmacology principles and procedures.
- The ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs, as well as climb, crouch, bend, stoop, push, or pull.
- Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills.
