About the role#
The Audiology Extern works with a mentor under direct supervision to gain training and expertise in preparation for a professional career. This position provides an opportunity to participate in clinical outpatient services within an academic health system.
What you'll do#
- Perform audiology outpatient services including audiograms, vestibular testing, and auditory evoked potentials under supervision.
- Assist with hearing aids.
- Provide presentations to audiology team members or leadership as needed.
- Perform basic patient assessments and other assigned duties.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor of Science degree.
- Completion of 3 years of an accredited Audiology Program.
- Working toward or obtained ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A).
- Knowledge of audiology techniques and practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and coworkers.
- Proficiency in computer and problem-solving skills.
