About the role#
The Audiology Extern works with a mentor under direct supervision to receive training and gain expertise in preparation for a professional career in audiology. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Perform, with supervision, all audiology outpatient services including audiograms, vestibular testing, and auditory evoked potentials.
- Assist with hearing aids.
- Provide presentations to audiology team members or leadership as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor of Science degree.
- Completion of 3 years of an accredited Audiology Program.
- Currently working toward or have obtained the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A).
- Knowledge of audiology techniques and practices.
- Ability to perform basic patient assessments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and coworkers.
- Proficiency with computers and problem-solving.
