About the role#
OU Health is hiring a Pharmacy Intern for a PRN position. This role offers clinical experience in a hospital environment. You will work under direct supervision to support patient care and pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Review and assess medication and IV orders to identify drug interactions or incompatibilities.
- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness based on patient factors like age and specific health needs.
- Communicate with nurses, physicians, and patients to provide clinical interventions.
- Prepare intravenous admixtures and other sterile products using aseptic technique under a laminar flow hood.
- Create and maintain patient medication profiles.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment and good standing in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- A valid Intern Permit issued by the Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy.
- Knowledge of pharmacology principles and procedures.
- The ability to explain technical information clearly to the general public.
