About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Kewaunee Fabrications, you will support the manufacturing engineering department in reaching production goals. You will report to the Manager of Manufacturing and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Audit and update existing work instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
- Perform time studies and conduct workstation or cell analyses to improve quality and productivity.
- Develop methods for machining and fabrication processes.
- Assist with plant layout and the design of workstations.
- Provide technical support to production personnel.
- Improve material handling methods and provide input on manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
- Learn to use ERP manufacturing software and create documentation for new product launches.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Manufacturing, Welding Engineering Technology, Industrial, Mechanical, or a related engineering field.
- Availability to work for the entire duration of the summer internship.
- Strong technical aptitude.
- Excellent skills in communication and collaboration.
- Candidates with a 3.0 GPA or higher, experience in welding, machining, or fabrication, and exposure to Lean, 5S, or CAD software are preferred.
