About the role#
As an Advanced Manufacturing Intern, you will work with the Manufacturing Engineering department to meet production goals and support continuous improvement. You will receive assignments from the Manager of Manufacturing and are encouraged to contribute your own ideas and suggestions. This role includes both office-based tasks and time on the production floor.
What you'll do#
- Visualize factory data related to quality, availability, and performance.
- Build custom Ignition dashboards.
- Analyze weld, paint, and assembly data to create predictive models.
- Identify opportunities for automated feedback in the paint system, smart torque tools, and robotic welding systems.
- Conduct time studies, line balancing, and ergonomic assessments.
- Analyze work stations and cells to improve productivity and quality.
- Provide input on manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
- Use AutoCAD or similar software to create and update plant layout drawings.
- Learn and operate ERP manufacturing software.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL is preferred.
- Familiarity with Power BI is preferred.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, six sigma, or industrial process optimization is preferred.
