About the role#
Orion Steel is offering a paid, full-time Purchasing Internship for Summer 2026. This role provides hands-on experience in supply chain management, including purchasing, inventory, job site material management, and logistics. You will work both independently and as part of a team to support the Purchasing department.
What you'll do#
- Provide analytical support to the Purchasing department.
- Assist in inventory management reporting and capture key purchasing KPIs.
- Develop data pipelines using SQL and assist in data gathering, validation, cleaning, and compilation.
- Create reports and dashboards to inform decision-making across the company.
- Leverage large data sets to derive insights for strategic sourcing and cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Planning.
- Identify data anomalies and ensure data quality in collaboration with technical and functional teams.
- Handle general administrative duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management or Computer Science, with at least one year of study completed.
- Proficiency in SQL is required.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in spreadsheet modeling.
- Ability to manage change requests.
- Quick learner regarding new software and system architecture.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Knowledge of R or Python and material procurement is considered a plus.
- Must be eligible to work in the USA.
