About the role#
The Process Technology Co-op Student position at Orion Steel offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the Process Technology department. This role is based in Calgary and requires an on-site presence to facilitate data collection, testing management, and operational support. The term begins in the Fall 2026 semester.
What you'll do#
- Participate in tubular specialized testing projects and perform process analyses.
- Review process data to identify non-conforming conditions.
- Coordinate with the QA department to address and respond to non-conformances.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collect data and ensure samples are managed correctly on-site.
- Gain exposure to pipe forming, welding, heat treatment, and threading operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a recognized Engineering program (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, Chemical, or Architecture) at a Canadian University.
- Completion of at least one year of undergraduate studies.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, specifically statics and strength of materials.
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency with MS Office.
- A self-starter mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
