About the role#
As a Mechanical Intern, you will work with our mechanical team to develop hardware designs and validation. This is a full-time, paid position based in London, Ontario. The term ranges from 4 to 12 months depending on your availability.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and validate components, weldments, assemblies, and integrations for mechanical hardware.
- Create technical documentation for mechanical hardware and related products.
- Select materials and components for structural assemblies and electrical hardware enclosures.
- Support the integration of existing CAE documents into PDM software.
- Prepare recommendations for the production and assembly of locomotive subsystems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical or Mechatronic degree program or a related technical diploma.
- Experience with Solidworks or other CAE software suites.
- Proficiency in using CAE supporting PDM suites.
- A basic understanding of GD&T.
- Competence in using hand tools.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
