About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work under the supervision of experienced engineers to support MEP projects. This role involves a mix of office-based design work and field inspections at project sites. You should be comfortable with both technical analysis and hands-on site visits.
What you'll do#
- Perform energy, load, airflow, and pressure drop calculations.
- Handle equipment sizing and system design layouts.
- Work with mechanical and electrical drafters to produce construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Research equipment options to meet specific project and client requirements.
- Document findings, write reports, and present your results to the team.
- Visit project or construction sites to verify existing conditions.
- Communicate project updates to stakeholders and team members.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your Junior year in a Mechanical Engineering program by the start of the internship.
- Current enrollment in a B.S. program at an ABET accredited institution.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- The ability to ask questions, learn from experienced engineers, and apply that knowledge to future tasks.
- A preference for candidates with previous internship or leadership experience.
- A willingness to perform physical tasks like climbing ladders or lifting items over 50 pounds during site visits.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship located in St. Louis, Missouri.
- Work is on-site. Expect about 90% of your time in the office and 10% at project or construction sites.
- We provide all necessary personal protective equipment for field work.
- This position follows a rolling term.
