    About the role#

    McClure Engineering in St. Louis is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term. You will work under the supervision of experienced engineers to support electrical design projects. The work is primarily based at our facility, though you will spend about 10% of your time at project or construction sites. Field work requires physical activity such as walking, climbing ladders, and lifting items over 50 pounds. We provide all necessary personal protective equipment.

    What you'll do#

    • Design lighting, power distribution, and communication systems, including fire alarms.
    • Work with mechanical and electrical drafters to produce construction documents and specifications.
    • Analyze project data and write technical reports.
    • Assist in developing electrical systems and circuits.
    • Research equipment and select items that meet specific project or client requirements.
    • Communicate project updates to stakeholders.
    • Conduct field inspections to verify existing site conditions.

    What you'll need#

    • Successful completion of your junior year in an Electrical Engineering program by the start of the internship.
    • Current enrollment in a B.S. Electrical Engineering degree at an ABET accredited institution.
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
    • The ability to learn from experienced engineers and apply that knowledge to future tasks.
    • A willingness to get hands-on experience in the field alongside office work.
    • Previous engineering internship or related experience is strongly preferred.
    • Leadership experience in university activities is a plus.
