Inventory Data Analyst Intern

About the role#

Orion Steel is seeking an Inventory Data Analyst Intern to join the team in Pueblo, Colorado for the Summer 2026 term. This internship offers the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world operational challenges within a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with operations and maintenance staff to ensure mobile equipment parts are accurately documented, tracked, and integrated into internal systems.

What you'll do#

• Document, track, and integrate mobile equipment parts into Oracle EAM and internal workflows.
• Catalog current stock, ensuring accurate descriptions, item attributes, and classifications.
• Design tracking sheets for inventory parts, including open and received purchase orders.
• Scrub and validate large datasets to identify errors, inconsistencies, and anomalies.
• Support maintenance technicians by assisting with work orders and verifying completion with the maintenance supervisor.
• Coordinate with Oracle and internal helpdesk support to resolve system issues.
• Develop Asset Bills of Materials (BOMs) and set up metered Preventive Maintenance tasks for critical equipment.
• Collaborate with the garage supervisor, stock attendant, warehouse supervisor, and maintenance expediter to determine inventory organization methods.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage large datasets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to collaborate with operations and maintenance staff in hands-on environments.
• Ability to work at a desk and perform field observations in mill environments requiring full PPE.
• Familiarity with Oracle EAM or other enterprise asset management systems is preferred but not required.

• Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour.
