About the role#
The Government and Public Affairs (GPA) team at Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan shapes public policy and regulation to protect the organization's interests. This team acts as an advisor to senior leadership, engaging with government officials to advance strategic goals. As an intern, you will work from our Toronto office to support these efforts, helping to manage relationships and monitor the political landscape.
What you'll do#
- Support the team by gathering and analyzing information for strategic initiatives.
- Create clear presentation materials, memos, and briefing notes for senior leadership.
- Track legislative and regulatory changes and assess their impact on the Fund.
- Coordinate internal and external relationship management efforts.
- Attend meetings with government stakeholders.
- Connect with different asset classes and functional partners to collect input and feedback.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or master's degree program. Studies in economics, business, political science, or global affairs are an asset.
- A strong interest in politics and the policymaking process.
- Curiosity about the investment industry, global politics, and economic affairs.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and work well in a team setting.

- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: January 2027 to December 2027 (12 months).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: Paid position ($24 - $28 per hour, depending on experience).
