About the role#
This internship provides hands-on training across Culinary and Pastry operations at the Omni Dallas Hotel. You will act as a utility player, rotating through different stations including banquets and restaurants to support daily business needs. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Work in various entry level positions across the property.
- Anticipate and attend to guest needs.
- Keep your work area clean and follow safety guidelines.
- Set up stations 15 minutes before service begins.
- Learn menu items and produce orders to meet quality and timing standards.
- Follow safe food handling procedures and health department sanitation rules.
What you'll need#
- Basic knife skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service skills, with previous experience in this area preferred.
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and multi-task.
- Willingness to take on different projects.
- Physical ability to stand for 8+ hours per day, including walking, sitting, squatting, and leaning.
- We welcome students from majors including Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Chemistry, Nutrition, Agriculture, and Art.
