About the role#
This position supports the daily operations of the library and learning commons spaces at Okanagan College. Working under direct supervision, you will assist in maintaining an organized environment and providing support to students using college facilities and digital services.
What you'll do#
- Perform basic maintenance of the library collection, including re-shelving materials and sorting items by call number.
- Assist students with navigating college online services, student portals, and learning management systems.
- Maintain cleanliness of student workstations, public desk areas, and library spaces.
- Provide basic printing assistance, including replacing paper and toner.
- Collect and record library usage data, such as gate counts and occupancy numbers.
- Issue student ID cards according to established procedures.
- Monitor library equipment and report maintenance issues to staff.
- Perform end-of-shift duties, including securing physical spaces and powering down monitors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Okanagan College.
- Proficiency in following both written and oral instructions.
- Strong time management, organizational, and writing skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in library services, IT, or customer service is considered an asset.
