    About the role#

    The NYISO is looking for a Business Process Improvement Co-Op to help modernize business processes and improve operational efficiency. You will participate in the full lifecycle of process improvement, from documenting current workflows to implementing new solutions. This role offers practical experience in business analysis, project management, and technology enablement while working across different teams.

    What you'll do#

    • Document and map current business processes.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify their needs, challenges, and goals.
    • Define future-state processes to improve efficiency and the user experience.
    • Perform gap analyses to determine the changes needed for process transitions.
    • Evaluate workflows and suggest opportunities for redesign or technology use.
    • Support the rollout of a project prioritization and portfolio management solution.
    • Assist in developing documentation, governance practices, and supporting processes.
    • Evaluate Microsoft 365 capabilities to streamline existing workflows.
    • Create process maps, reports, presentations, and training materials.
    • Support system testing and document the results.
    • Help with change management and end-user training activities.
    • Work alongside Product and Project Management, IT, and business teams.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently pursuing a degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • You have an interest in business analysis, process improvement, project management, or technology implementation.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • You can gather information and turn business needs into clear documentation.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work with stakeholders across both technical and business functions.
    • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn new processes or technologies.
    • Experience with process mapping or workflow tools is helpful but not required.
    • Familiarity with project management methodologies is a plus.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute in a collaborative environment.

    Location & details#

    • This is a hybrid position based in Rensselaer, New York. You should be local to the Albany area.
    • This is a paid, full-time co-op position.
    • Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a drug screening and background check.
