About the role#
The Interconnection Data and Automation Co-Op supports reporting, data visualization, and process improvement initiatives within the Interconnection Coordination department. You will work with data in Salesforce to create clear reporting solutions for teams across Planning and Operations. This role combines exposure to power systems with data analysis, programming, and cross-functional collaboration.
What you'll do#
- Analyze interconnection data in Salesforce to identify reporting and visualization opportunities.
- Build reports, dashboards, and visual tools to improve data accessibility.
- Gather feedback from Planning and Operations stakeholders regarding their reporting needs.
- Improve the clarity and usability of information for Salesforce users.
- Support the automation of Facility Modification review and analysis activities.
- Write Python scripts to increase the efficiency of recurring processes.
- Review existing workflows to find ways to reduce manual work.
- Validate data and analytical outputs for accuracy.
- Document reporting solutions, automation tools, and process recommendations.
- Collaborate with professionals in Interconnection Coordination, System Modeling, Planning, and Operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering degree program, preferably Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- Interest in power systems and electric transmission systems.
- Basic understanding of transmission system concepts.
- Python programming experience.
- Interest in data analysis, reporting, visualization, and process automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize and communicate technical information clearly.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with stakeholders across different technical areas.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time hybrid position based in Rensselaer, New York.
- You must be local to the Albany, New York area.
- Offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a drug screening and background check.
