About the role#
The NYISO is seeking a Windows Systems Administration Co-Op to support endpoint management, device-data quality, and Tier 2 administration. You will gain hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows systems, endpoint inventory, application deployment, and ServiceNow asset records. This role focuses on improving the accuracy of endpoint information and supporting Windows lifecycle and technology-governance initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain Microsoft Intune device groups and review compliance dashboards.
- Audit endpoint inventory and asset records for accuracy while validating workstation naming standards.
- Identify stale or inactive computer accounts and assist with Windows deployment-readiness assessments.
- Document workstation build procedures and create knowledge articles for common technical problems.
- Test new application deployments and update troubleshooting documentation.
- Review incident trends to identify frequently occurring issues and track service-level performance metrics.
- Reconcile endpoint information across Microsoft Intune, inventory systems, and ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management.
- Recommend improvements to endpoint-management and asset-data workflows.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems and familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to document technical processes clearly and follow through on corrective actions.
- Interest in endpoint management, systems administration, and IT operations.
- Exposure to Microsoft Intune or another endpoint-management platform is preferred.
- Basic PowerShell scripting knowledge is a plus, as is familiarity with ServiceNow or IT asset-management concepts.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid role based in Rensselaer, New York. You must be local to the Albany area.
- This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term.
- Offers are contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening and background check.
